Utility software helps to manage, maintain and control computer resources. The job of utility programs is to keep the computer system running smoothly.  Even if there is no utility software on your computer, the computer works but with the right kind of utility software loaded, the computer becomes more reliable and even it’s processing speed increases. Some of the commonly use utility software are antivirus, Disk defragmenter, backup, compression etc.

यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर कंप्यूटर संसाधनों के प्रबंधन, रखरखाव और नियंत्रण में मदद करता है। यूटिलिटी प्रोग्राम का काम कंप्यूटर सिस्टम को सुचारू रूप से चलाना है। भले ही आपके कंप्यूटर पर कोई यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर न हो, कंप्यूटर काम करता है लेकिन सही तरह के यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर लोड होने से कंप्यूटर अधिक विश्वसनीय हो जाता है और यहां तक ​​कि इसकी प्रोसेसिंग स्पीड भी बढ़ जाती है। आमतौर पर उपयोग किए जाने वाले कुछ यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर एंटीवायरस, डिस्क डीफ़्रेग्मेंटर, बैकअप, कम्प्रेशन आदि हैं।

Antivirus

An antivirus is utility software which detects and removes computer viruses from a computer. Once installed, most antivirus software runs automatically in the background to provide real-time protection against virus attacks. These are available many types antivirus software in the market.

Such as – MCAfree, Avast, Avira, Norton, Gradian, AVG, Panda Security etc.

एक एंटीवायरस यूटिलिटी सॉफ्टवेयर है जो कंप्यूटर से कंप्यूटर वायरस का पता लगाता है और डिलीट करता है। एक बार इंस्टॉल हो जाने पर, अधिकांश एंटीवायरस सॉफ़्टवेयर वायरस के हमलों के विरुद्ध रीयल-टाइम सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए बैकग्राउंड में आटोमेटिक रूप से चलता है। बाजार में कई तरह के एंटीवायरस सॉफ्टवेयर उपस्थित हैं।

Disk Defragmenter

The process of arranging the fragmented data in a sequence in the hard disk of the computer is called Disk Defragmentation.

How to defragment your hard drive

To run Disk Defragmenter manually, it is usually best to analyze the disk first.

• Click on the Start menu or Windows button

• Select Control Panel, then System and Security

• Under Administrative Tools, click on Defragment

• Select Analyze Disk. The report you receive will tell you whether you need to defragment your disk.

• If you need to defragment your disk manually, click Defragment disk.

 

कंप्यूटर के हार्डडिस्क में Fragmented अर्थात बिखरी पड़ी हुई डाटा को एक क्रम में व्यवस्थित करने की प्रक्रिया को Disk Defragmentation कहा जाता है।

अपनी हार्ड ड्राइव को डीफ़्रैग्मेन्ट कैसे करें

डिस्क डीफ़्रेग्मेंटर को मैन्युअल रूप से चलाने के लिए, आमतौर पर पहले डिस्क का Analyze करना सबसे अच्छा होता है।

·         Start मेन्यू या Windows बटन पर क्लिक करें

·         Control Panel चुनें, फिर System and Security

·         Administrative Tools के तहत, Defragment पर क्लिक करें

·         Analyze डिस्क का चयन करें। आपको मिलने वाली रिपोर्ट यह बताएगी कि क्या आपको अपनी डिस्क को डीफ़्रैग्मेन्ट करने की आवश्यकता है।

·         यदि आपको अपनी डिस्क को मैन्युअल रूप से डीफ़्रैग्मेन्ट करने की आवश्यकता है, तो Defragment disk पर क्लिक करें।

 

Backup Utility

This utility is used to create the copy of the complete or partial data stored in a disk or CD on any other disk. In case the hard disk crashes or some other system failure occurs, the files can be restored using backup software.

इस यूटिलिटी का उपयोग किसी डिस्क या सीडी में किसी अन्य डिस्क पर संग्रहीत पूर्ण या आंशिक डेटा की कॉपी बनाने के लिए किया जाता है। यदि हार्ड डिस्क क्रैश हो जाती है या कोई अन्य सिस्टम फेल होती है, तो बैकअप सॉफ़्टवेयर का उपयोग करके फ़ाइलों को पुनर्स्थापित किया जा सकता है।

Compression Utility

This utility is used to compress large files. Compression is useful because it helps reduce resources usage and the file transmission on the network becomes easier.

इस यूटिलिटी का उपयोग बड़ी फ़ाइलों को कॉम्प्रेस करने के लिए किया जाता है। कम्प्रेशन बहुत ही उपयोगी है क्योंकि यह संसाधनों के उपयोग को कम करने में मदद करता है और नेटवर्क पर फ़ाइल का ट्रांसमिशन आसान हो जाता है।

Disk Cleaner

This utility scans for file that has not been accessed since long. Such files might be occupying huge amount of memory space. In that case the Disk Cleaner utility prompts the user to delete such files so as to create more space on the disk. If the files are important, the user might take a backup before deleting them.

यह यूटिलिटी उस फ़ाइल के लिए स्कैन करती है जिसे लंबे समय से एक्सेस नहीं किया गया है। ऐसी फ़ाइलें बड़ी मात्रा में मेमोरी स्थान घेर सकती हैं। उस स्थिति में डिस्क क्लीनर यूटिलिटी उपयोगकर्ता को ऐसी फ़ाइलों को हटाने के लिए प्रेरित करती है ताकि डिस्क पर अधिक स्थान बनाया जा सके। यदि फ़ाइलें महत्वपूर्ण हैं, तो उपयोगकर्ता उन्हें हटाने से पहले बैकअप ले सकता है।

File Management Tools

This utility helps the user to storing, indexing, searching and sorting files and folders on the system. The most commonly used file management tool is the Windows Explorer and Google Desktop.

यह यूटिलिटी उपयोगकर्ता को सिस्टम पर फ़ाइलों और फ़ोल्डरों को संग्रहीत करने, अनुक्रमणित करने, खोजने और सॉर्टिंग में मदद करती है। सबसे अधिक इस्तेमाल किया जाने वाला फाइल मैनेजमेंट टूल विंडोज एक्सप्लोरर और गूगल डेस्कटॉप है।
